Our Roots

Little Roots Preschool was founded in 2026 with a simple vision: to create a preschool where children are known, loved, and encouraged to grow in faith and confidence.

Little Roots Preschool is honored to serve families throughout the Treasure Valley by providing engaging, faith-filled learning experiences that prepare children for kindergarten and beyond while creating meaningful opportunities for families to connect with one another, the local community, and grow in their faith.

Our journey began with a simple mission: to create a learning environment that feels like home—where every child is known, valued, and encouraged to grow into their God-given potential.

Our theme verse, Colossians 2:7, reflects the heart of Little Roots:
“Let your roots grow down into him and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness.”

We are passionate about helping little roots grow deep in Jesus’ love as we care for the precious children entrusted to us.

Some of life's sweetest memories begin in preschool. We hope Little Roots Preschool is one of them.

Jamie Chalmers has more than 30 years of experience in early childhood education and has spent most of her career teaching preschool and Transitional Kindergarten in Christian schools. She is passionate about helping children grow in confidence, faith, and a lifelong love of learning through engaging, developmentally appropriate experiences. Jamie enjoys partnering with families to support each child's unique journey. When she's not in the classroom, she enjoys spending time with her children and grandchildren, boating, exploring the outdoors with her husband, and loving on her dog, Faith.

Teacher

Mary has devoted nearly 40 years to early childhood education as a teacher, preschool director, tutor, reading specialist, and children's ministry leader. She is passionate about helping young children learn and grow through developmentally appropriate, play-based experiences. Mary believes children thrive when parents and teachers work together as a team. When she's not with children, she enjoys spending time with her five grandchildren and exploring the outdoors.

About the Owner

Mrs. Cindy

I'm a child of God, mom, and grandma who loves children and the unique way each one is designed. I believe every child deserves to be loved, respected, and challenged in ways that help them grow with confidence.

For more than a decade, I've had the privilege of teaching preschool, leading Mommy & Me music classes, directing a music school, and creating music enrichment programs for young children. Before opening Little Roots Preschool, I also spent many years in business leadership and finance—experience that now helps me build a preschool that is both nurturing for children and thoughtfully organized for families.

People often tell me I'm an unusual combination of playful and practical. I love planning, organizing, and paying attention to details—but don't be surprised if you hear me tell my husband, "You missed the dance party!" after he walks into the kitchen and catches me dancing while I cook. Joy belongs in everyday moments, especially around children.

God has woven together every chapter of my life to prepare me for this season. Little Roots Preschool is the joyful result of those experiences—a place where faith, discovery, meaningful relationships, and childhood wonder come together.

Family & Friends

Family and friends mean the world to me. I love them deeply and treasure our time spent together. Rarely does a week go by that I’m not connecting with these special people who bring so much joy and support into my life.

Pets

Meet my horses, Elko (left) and Lemhi (right), two of God’s special gifts to me. My husband and I rescued them in 2024.! They are incredible animals, and I feel truly blessed to be caring for them.

Kona and Duke are also a big part of our family and so much fun to love! Kona (right) joined us during COVID, and we welcomed Duke (left) a couple years later. It took some time for them to adjust, but now they’re the best of friends!

Faith

I have walked with Jesus since I was 10 years old. He has been my strength through every season of life, and I can't imagine walking without him.

I currently attend Foothills Christian Church and have the privilege of serving on their Music, Tech, and MomCo teams.

I believe some of God’s greatest blessings to me are the people He brings into my life—each one for a purpose and a season. Perhaps one of those blessings will be your family. I hope so!
